Léman Fruits Project:
Fruit Storage
The task was to reorganize the refrigeration system at Léman Fruits to improve energy efficiency while ensuring precise temperature control and a controlled atmosphere for fruit storage. We maximized the system’s energy efficiency with high-performance compressors and a modular condensation system (water/air), while also integrating heat recovery for warehouse heating and sorting and packaging areas.
This project required the installation of 21 cold rooms in the new warehouse, with condensers expelling heat outside, which is also stored and reused to defrost the evaporators when necessary. The impact was immediate, with a rapid improvement in the energy performance: complete elimination of potable water consumption in the refrigeration process, a 30% reduction in energy costs, and a 10-fold reduction in ammonia load.
